<description>This process is somewhat changed for Windows Server 2008:

This is a simple method of running a daily backup on Windows Server 2008 to an external hard drive with multiple folders to backup seperate days of the week. The idea is that you will have at least 2 external hard drives that you backup up to that you swap out and take off site each week so that you can have an offiste backup as well as the one at the server

Additionally with a large enough external HD you can backup all of your data to it in multiple folders (a Monday - Friday folder) so you can roll back to previous versions of data

Here is the layout:
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:[machinenameAndFolder] -include:d: -quiet

Samples:
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\server\f$\Monday -include:d: -quiet
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\server\f$\Tuesday -include:d: -quiet
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\server\f$\Wednesday -include:d: -quiet
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\server\f$\Thursday -include:d: -quiet
wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\server\f$\Friday -include:d: -quiet

- put each one into a batch file (.bat)
- Then run it in the Windows Server 2008 Administration Tools-&gt;Task Scheduler</description>
